Running For Research (???)

Two Hofstra Grads run to raise money to fight (NOT "for") cancer

By: Jenny Stein
---------------------------
Headline has nothing to do with the article. The article is about the graduates and their training for this marathon.
--------------------------
Since this will be out late in the semester, in May, changes to the past-tense must be made.
--------------------------
FACT CHECKING!!!!
*It is not the "County Music Marathon," it's the "CountRy Music Marathon"
*The paragraph about the Society is plagiarized directly from the Society's website; and is incorrect.
* The society has not "raised over $600 million..." it has invested it. (as per the Society's website)
--------------------------
Questions to go back and re-write/re-ask the subjects of this article:

1. Is Team in Training the team they are running with in TN? It not, it's not relevant.
2. Add a question: How much money did you raise?
3. Will you do another event like this again?
--------------------------
Changes to the current questions:

*Eliminate the third question: What does your training usually entail? It is irrelevant after the marathon.

*Change the fifth question from: With all this training, have you ever wanted to give up?
TO: Was there a point in your training that you ever wanted to give up?

*For the last question asked by the reporter, "Dom, will you be doing the same [as Lauren in the previous question]?" it doesn't make sense to have a separate question for Dominick. The reporter can add a paragraph to separate the two answers.
--------------------------
Ask questions after the marathon! No one will care about present-day answers, until after the graduates have run.

It is a good article, if it were to be in the magazine before the marathon, as it is about the graduates and their training.

Also, ask more questions (at least three) about the marathon after it has happened.

The headline gears readers to want to know about the marathon, not training for it.
--------------------------
Picture/graphic ideas:
-Lauren and Dominick running or in their training uniforms
-Cancer patients in the marathon's audience
(ask the graduates to take the pictures, since reporter may not be able to be in TN)
